JC Epidemic is a not-for-profit Christian action sports organization that was established in 2004 by 3 young people who saw a need for providing action packed entertainment that portrayed good old-fashioned values; treat people how you expect them to treat you and look after things as if they are your own.
The aim of our Skate Park Chaplaincy Program is to speak to smaller groups of youth, get them actively involved in the activities we run, and encourage them to live life to the full. Our strong relationships with associated organisations and effective team leadership allows us to motivate youth to a better life. Not necessarily an easier life, but a better one.
At regular park sessions we offer cold drinks with the aim of building relationships with locals, which will enable us to influence the culture within that park; imparting parketiquette and rider respect between all that utilise the facility.
We want to restore skate parks to a place where parents are happy for their children to go and spend time, enjoying the facilities no matter what their age. We achieve this by providing skate park chaplains with relevant working-with-children training, and encouraging these chaplains to partner with local professionals when necessary.
We currently have our skatepark chaplaincy running in Dalby Queensland, Gympie Queensland and Nowra New South Wales. To get connected with what is happening at these parks please check out the JC Epidemic Facebook Page.
